Green Garden Child Development Centers, nestled across the Metro Detroit area, is a beacon of nature-focused early childhood education. In the fall of 2023, Garden for Wildlife had the pleasure of collaborating with Green Garden to enhance their outdoor classrooms with Michigan native plants. Through our donation program, over 700 native plants were planted across all seven of their campuses, including the front of their administration building. These donations weren't just about adding beauty to their landscapes; it was about creating vital habitats for local wildlife and enriching the educational experiences of their students.
Green Garden's Nature Specialists and staff came together to plant the donated species over several weeks. They showed dedication and enthusiasm while creating native garden for learning and life, carefully arranged the plants while envisioning the vibrant ecosystems that would soon emerge.Garden for Wildlife is touched by Green Garden's genuine appreciation for the informative signs accompanying the plantings. These signs not only educate but also inspire curiosity and stewardship among students, families, and communities. They serve as a reminder of the importance of supporting pollinators and creating habitats that sustain biodiversity.

How to Apply for a Community Plant Donation from Garden for Wildlife
By simply purchasing a plant, individuals are actively participating in the preservation of biodiversity in their own gardens, and in a community garden or public space. The donation program enables the creation and maintenance of wildlife habitats and educates and engages communities across the country. And twice as many birds, bees, butterflies, and other important wildlife species have the food and shelter they need to survive.
